A 60-year-old woman was burned to death while cooking in her kitchen in Chaychar village under Sadar upazila in Magura on Friday.
The incident took place at about 9:00am when Sokina Begum accidentally fell onto a burning stove at her home, causing severe burns to her entire body, said Mehedi Rusel, officer-in-charge Magura Police Station.
She was rushed to Magura Hospital where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
A case has been registered at Magura Police Station in connection with the incident, the officer added.
