A day labour and a child were killed in separate road accidents in Magura on Friday, the police said.
One of the deceased is brickfield labour Tobarak Mollah, 40, a resident of Nahata village under Mohammadpur upazila, and the other is 18-month-old child Morium, daughter of Murad Hossain of Dakshinpara of Sreepur upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur police station Burhan Ali said a speeding three-wheeler taxi crashed into Tobakrak from the opposite direction when he was going to his workplace from home by a bicycle at about 7:00am.
The accident left him killed on the spot, he said, adding that a case was filed in this connection.
In the second incident a speeding human hauler, locally known as Nasiman, rammed into the child while she was playing on a road in front of her house in Sonatundi village of Sreepur upazila around 10am, said Sreepur police station鈥檚 OC Taslim Hossain.
The child succumbed to her injuries following the accident, said the police official, adding that they registered a case in this regard.
