
The police have arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of 27-year-old Ariful Islam in Dakshinkhan.
The arrestees were Abu Bakkar Siddique Bijoy, 20, Rana, 23, and Amir Hossain Mollah, 20.
The police sources said that Ariful Islam, who worked in an embroidery factory in Doradia Bazar under Uttarkhan police station, has been in a long-standing dispute over monetary transaction with the arrestees.聽
On the evening of February 23, Rana called Ariful to meet at an open field in Nardapara of Dakshinkhan.
When Ariful arrived, Amir Hossain Mollah fatally stabbed Ariful in the chest with a sharp knife.
The attackers fled the spot when Ariful screamed and he was later taken to Kurmitola General Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
A murder case was filed by Ariful鈥檚 father, Md Dulal Hossain, naming four persons.
Bijoy and Rana were arrested on the night of February 23, and following their confessions, Amir Hossain Mollah was apprehended on February 24 from a rented house in Taltala, Dakshinkhan.
The聽聽 knife, used in the murder was also recovered from the roof of a nearby house, as shown by Mollah.
The three arrestees confessed to the police for their involvement in the murder and have been sent to the court.
