
The MTB Presents AUST Inter-University Programming Contest (IUPC) 2025 was held after three years, drawing 131 teams from over 60 universities to Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Dhaka, said a press release.
AUST Programming and Informatics Club (AUSTPIC) organised the contest, which was sponsored by Mutual Trust Bank PLC and co-sponsored by Dynamic Solution Innovators (DSi).
Besides, it was supported by media partners Banglavision, Channel 24, Daily Ittefaq, Naya Diganta as well as City Group.
The competition took place in two phases, starting with a mock test on February 21, 2025, which allowed participants to familiarise themselves with the contest format.
The main contest on February 22, 2025, began at 10:30am and lasted for five hours, with teams battling against time to solve complex algorithmic problems crafted by the Bangladesh Competitive Programming Society.
SUST Fanatics from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology ultimately claimed the championship title, securing a prize of Tk 50,000.
DU Primordius from Dhaka University and BUET Hotasha from BUET took the first and second runner-up positions, winning Tk 35,000 and Tk 25,000, respectively.
Esteemed dignitaries, including Professor Golam Rahman, chairman of the AUST Board of Trustees; and Professor Md Ashraful Hoque, vice-chancellor of AUST; who served as the chief patron of the event, were present at the programme.
Professor M Shamsher Ali, founding vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Open University and former vice-chancellor of Southeast University, was present as chief guest.
Besides, Professor Md Shariful Islam, adviser for students鈥 welfare; Professor Sharmin Reza Chowdhury, treasurer, AUST; and Professor Md Shamim Akhter, head of CSE department; were present as guests.
