At least seven people were killed and four other injured in road accidents in Rajshahi, Munshiganj, Faridpur, Lakshmipur and Bogura on Monday.

抖阴精品 staff correspondent in Rajshahi reported that three people were killed and three others injured in a collision between an ambulance and a truck at Godagari in Rajshahi.


The deceased were ambulance driver Jafar Iqbal, 45, resident of Hoseniganj in Rajshahi city, Sundari Pahan, 60, of Thakur Joubon Para under Godgari and her sister Aduri Rani, 35.

Besides, Sundari鈥檚 daughter Sumi Rani, son Wasim Murali and granddaughter Subed Murali were injured in the accident.

Subed Murali鈥檚 father Hiralal Murali said that while transporting Sundari in a government ambulance to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, the vehicle collided head-on with a truck near Rajabarihat in the upazila, leaving her mother-in-law Sundari, her sister Aduri and ambulance driver dead on the spot.

Godagari police station officer-in-charge Ruhul Amin said that they seized the truck but its driver managed to flee the spot.

The 抖阴精品 correspondent in Munshiganj reported that a truck driver was killed in a collision between two trucks on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Gazaria in Munshiganj.聽

The deceased, Sohag, 29, was a resident of Senbagh in Noakhali.

Gazaria highway police outpost in-charge Shawkat Hossain said the body was kept in the police outpost.聽

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that a man was killed and another injured after a motorcycle hit a standing lorry on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Sankhali area under Madhukhali of Faridpur.聽

The deceased, Abdul Matin, 32, was a resident of Sripur in Magura.

Karimpur highway police station OC Md Salauddin Chowdhury said that the injured was sent to Dhaka in critical condition.聽聽

The BSS reported that a man was killed after a pickup van collided with another pickup van on the Lakshmipur-Ramgati road in Hazirhat area of Lakshmipur Sadar.

The deceased, Monir Hossain, 45, was a raw material trader and a resident of Ramgati.

Kamalnagar police station OC Md Touhidul Islam said that the police sent the body to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital morgue.

The BSS reported that a rickshaw puller was killed when a speeding truck hit a standing rickshaw on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway around in Majhira area under Shajahanpur of Bogura.

The deceased, Mirajul Islam, 25, was a resident of Gaynakuri village of the upazila.

In-charge of Sherpur highway police camp Azizul Islam said that a case was filed in this connection.
