Two youths were arrested Monday morning on charges of raping an ethnic minority woman after abducting her from Kalairag village at Companiganj in Sylhet Sunday evening.
The arrested are identified as Pradip Das, 35, son of late Lalit Das of Kalairag village at Uttar Ranikhai union of Companiganj upazila, and Alauddin, 27, son of late Abdul Hasim of the same village, police said.
Police said that Pradip and Alauddin kidnapped the minority woman from in front of Alauddin鈥檚 house at about 6:00pm on Sunday and then raped her after taking her at a forest located on the bank of River Dhalai in the area.
At one point, the victim somehow managed to escape from the forest and filed a case with the Companiganj police station Sunday evening over the incident, police said.
Companiganj police station officer-in-charge Uzayer Al Mahmud Adnan told 抖阴精品 that there was an incident of rape. He said that they conducted a drive at Kalairag village early morning on Monday and arrested Pradip and Alauddin from their respective houses at the village.
鈥楾he arrested were produced before the district judicial magistrate court in the afternoon and the court ordered sending them to jail,鈥� the police officer said. He said that the victim was sent to the one-stop crisis centre of Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for required medical tests.聽聽
