An 18-year-old college student was killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and an engine-run van in Mohonpur upazila of Rajshahi on Tuesday.
The deceased, Abul Bashar, son of Babul Hossain of village Bahadurpur village, was a first-year student at a local college.
Sub-inspector Nowshad Ali of Mohonpur Police Station said that the accident occurred at Chok Belna Mor when Bashar鈥檚 motorcycle collided with a vutvuti while he was on his way to a computer class. He died on the spot, the SI said.
Police recovered the body, but the van driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.
As the victim鈥檚 family did not file a complaint, police handed over the body to them after completing legal formalities, SI Nowshad added.
