
A school boy died of smoke inhalation in a fire that broke out in a neighbouring building at Gani Haji house of east Dabua village under Raozan upazila of Chattogram early Sunday.
The victim is Mohammad Faisal, son of expatriate Rahmat Ullah and a student of class VI at Raozan Salamat Ullah High School.
Fire service said that the fire originated from kitchen stove in the house of Md Musa, engulfing five rooms of the house.聽
Faisal, who was sleeping in a two-storied brick made building next door, suffocated due to the heat and smoke of the fire.
He was rescued by breaking the wall and taken to the hospital, where the attending doctors declared him dead.
Victim鈥檚 uncle Habib Ullah and grandmother Shahanur Begum were burnt while trying to rescue Faisal.
Raozan fire service in-charge Shamshul Alam said that getting information two firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
Another school boy was sleeping in a two-storied brick building next door was reported to be suffocated due to the heat and smoke of the fire. But, his identity could not be known immediately.
