International School Dhaka has recently hosted its annual student-led iftar party on the school campus in Dhaka.

This initiative was planned by ISD students across different service groups and aimed to create a meaningful experience for underprivileged children through various interactive activities and a shared iftar partry, said a press release on Saturday.

One hundred and seventy students from Solmaid, Families for Children , Dreams in Action’ of JAAGO foundation, LEF for life, Rise and Shine of Abinta Kabir Foundation, and ISD attended the programme organised under the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme’s Creativity, Activity, Service of CAS and the Middle Years Programme’s Service as action.

The event featured activities such as painting, origami, bracelet-making, storytelling, reading, and Eid card designing, alongside fun games such as pictionary, charades, and musical chairs.

It also included a film screening and dedicated bonding session to foster a warm and inclusive learning environment for all.

ISD students raised funds by selling stationery, stickers, and jewellery to support the event, which also allowed them to purchase sports equipment, books, and school supplies for donation to children of underserved communities.

As a part of ISD’s commitment to supporting community development through ethical action, this initiative was tied to sustainable development goals, particularly SDG 2, SDG 4, SDG 8, and SDG 10.

In addition to the Iftar gathering at ISD, the Diamonds in the Rough service group will organise a special visit to the Bashundhara Children’s Group, where ISD students engage with children through mentorship and interactive sessions.

This initiative aims to bridge educational gaps, promote inclusivity, and provide a platform for confidence-building and academic growth.
