Police on Tuesday night detained one grocery shop owner allegedly for attempting to rape a five-year-old child at Gazaria in Munshiganj district.
The arrested was identified as Shah Alam Khan, 65, son of Solaiman Khan of village Rasulpur.
According to a relative of the victim, Shah Alam was caught red-handed by neighbours while he was molesting the child inside the grocery shop on Tuesday morning.
Gazaria Police Station officer-in-charge Md Anwar Alam Azad said on Wednesday that police detained Shah Alam Khan on Tuesday night.
鈥楬e was sent to jail after a case was filed against him,鈥� Anwar said.
