A Kishoreganj court on Thursday sent a 15-year-old boy to juvenile correction centre on Thursday in connection with the rape of a six-year-old boy four days ago.

Victim’s father filed a case with the Bhairab police station on Wednesday against two teenagers for raping his son while he was walking on the road in front of his house at Bhairab upazila in Kishoreganj on March 31, police said.

The police arrested one of the accused on Wednesday and sent him to juvenile correction centre after he was produced before the court on

Thursday, said Mohammad Nurul Huda Bhuiyan, investigation officer in the case.

Another accused went into hiding, he said, adding that efforts are on to arrest him as soon as possible.

According to victim’s family, the victim was walking on the road in front of his house at about 8:30pm on March 3.

At that time, two local teenagers grabbed the boy and took him to the toilet of a nearby mosque, where they tied his hands, feet, eyes and face, and raped him.

After reaching home, the victim got sick and told his parents about the matter.

Later, the child was taken to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex.

After receiving primary treatment, the child was sent to Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital for further tests.

‘We went to the house of the two accused and complained to the family members about the incident,’ the victim’s father said, adding that the family later offered a settlement through arbitration. Investigation officer in the case, Nurul Huda, said that initial investigation found the allegations to be true.
