
The Anti-Corruption Commission on Sunday filed a case against 11 people, including the former secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and former president of Ideal School and College, Abu Hena Morshed Zaman and the school鈥檚 former principal Shahana Ara Begum on charges of admitting 107 students to the school illegally.
ACC deputy director Mahbubul Alam filed the case with its Integrated District Office in Dhaka-1, said ACC deputy director for public relations Aktarul Islam.
The other accused are ideal school and college governing body鈥檚 former members Md Shahidul Islam, also joint secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration (officer on special duty), Golam Ashraf Talukdar, former parent member (Higher Secondary) Md Mujibur Rahman, former parent member (secondary) Md Abdur Rob Mia, former parent member (Primary) Mohammad Ali, former parent member (reserved) Aziza Begum, former member and teacher representative (Higher Secondary) Munirjadi Kafia Alam, former member and teacher representative (Secondary) Mohammad Golam Mustafa and former member Maksuda Akter.
According to the case statement, the accused individuals used their positions to violate government regulations regarding student admissions.
They enrolled 107 students in various classes (Class I, II, III, IV, and VI) at Ideal School and College, Motijheel branch, in the 2021 academic session by creating a fraudulent quota system.
This illegal admission deprived deserving students of their rightful place in the school and constituted a punishable offence, said the case statement.
