
The Border Guard Bangladesh has seized different smuggled goods worth over Tk 152.8 crore at different places in the country in March.
A BGB press release on Tuesday said that the seized smuggled items included LSD, yaba, heroin, cocaine, phensedyl, hemp, gold, silver, imitation jewellery, wood, tea leaves, betel nut, sugar, fertiliser, octane, coal, mobile phone sets, glasses, edible oil, onion, garlic, cumin, raisins, chocolate, stone statues, trucks, covered vans, pickups, cars, microbuses, trolleys, boats, CNG-run-auto-rickshaw and easy bikes, motorcycles and bicycles.
The BGB also seized various weapons, including one-shooter guns, bullets and lead bullets in the month.
The BGB personnel arrested 134 smugglers alongside 337 Bangladeshi and 14 Indian for illegally crossing the border, mentioned the press release, adding that legal action was taken against them.
In addition, 647 Myanmar citizens who tried to enter Bangladesh were returned to their country, it said.
