The Bangladesh Public Service Commission on Sunday announced the dates for the written tests and viva voce under the ongoing 44th, 45th, 46th and 47th Bangladesh Civil Service examinations. It has also announced the dates for publishing the results of the exams already conducted.
The preliminary test of the 47th BCS exams will be held on August 8 instead of the previously announced date of June 27, according to a PSC press release issued on the day.聽
The commission in the release also stated that it was giving every try to resolve the current deadlock around the four ongoing BCS exams.
The release said that the mandatory subjects for the written tests under the 46th BCS exams would be held between May 8 and 19 this year, while the exams on the post related subjects would be held between the last week of June and July 7.
Those 44th BCS candidates who are also taking the 46th BCS exams have been asked not to take the viva under the 44th BCS exams the dates of which have been set between April 22 and May 19.
These candidates will attend the 44th BSC viva at a later date to be set after June 16, according to the press release.
The press release also read that the commission planned to publish the final results of the 44th BCS exams by June this year.
By the same time the commission has also planned to publish the results of the written tests of the 45th BCS exams.
The Public Service Commission in its release alleged that some print and electronic media in their recent reports gave baseless and fragmented information about the ongoing BCS exams, creating confusion among BCS candidates and disrupting their preparations.
To allay the concerns of the candidates, the commission on the day announced its decisions regarding the four BCS exams, the release added.
The commission also urged all the candidates to rely only on the commission website for information regarding the exams.
Currently, the viva of the 44th BCS exams is going on. The notice calling for applications for the 44th BCS exams was published in 2021.
The notice calling for applications for the 45th BCS exams was published in November 2022. The results of these exams are yet to be published.
Applications were called for the 46th BCS exams in November 2023, while the notice for applications for the 47th BCS exams was published in November 2024.
