The police recovered the body of a seven-year-old girl who was allegedly raped and murdered with her face burned in a Natore village on Tuesday morning.  

The body of the victim, a Class-IV student of a local Madrassah, was found in a maize field, ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· correspondent in Pabna reported quoting police officials.


The girl’s father is a Malaysian expatriate from Baraigram in Natore.

Local people and the police said that the child left home Monday afternoon to play nearby but did not return home.

They said that local people at about 8:00am on Tuesday found her body in a maize field at Rampura village of Chatmohar in Pabna and informed the police.

The spot where the body was discovered falls along the border of the of the Chatmohar and Baraigram police, leading to the officials of both the police stations to go to the spot.

Chatmohar police station officer-in-charge Monirul Alam said that they had recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

‘The child’s face was disfigured by some metallic object. Once we get the autopsy report, we will know the real cause of death and whether it was a rape,’ he added. 

The victim’s father filed a case with the Chatmohar police station.

Local people alleged that the girl was raped and then killed and her face was burnt with acid.

¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· correspondent in Munshiganj reported that a worker was beaten by local people and handed over to police for the allegations of attempting to rape a five-year-old girl at Muradkandi village of Gazaria.

The accused Badsha Mia, 43, a resident of the same village.

Gazaria police station officer-in-charge Md Anwar Alam said that they had sent force after hearing the news and excited people confined Badsha Mia.

‘We brought him to the police station after recovery,’ he added.
