
Shinepukur Cricket Club pacer Nahid Rana picked up a five-wicket haul which saw them beat Mohammedan Sporting Club by six wickets in DLS method at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday.
In the other two matches of the day, Gazi Group Cricketers won by 130 runs against Brothers Union while Rupganj Tigers beat City Club by five runs.
At the SBNS, Mohammedan were rattled by Rana鈥檚 pace as he picked up Rony Talukdar (4), Mahidul Islam Ankon (0), Ariful Islam (5), Ariful Haque (30), and Nasum Ahmed (3).
However, fifties from skipper Imrul Kayes (56) and Abu Hider Rony (51) saw them post 227-9.
Besides Rana, left-arm spinner Hasan Murad picked up two wickets.
The target for Shinepukur was then reduced to 158 off 30 overs following a rain break, and they reached the target with 14 balls and six wickets in hand, courtesy of contributions from Tanzid Hasan Tamim (36), Marshall Ayub (30), Akbar Ali (27*), and Jishan Alam (26).
At the BKSP, Gazi Group piled on a mountain of runs against Brothers as fifties from Anisul Islam (65), Habibur Rahman (81), Sabbir Hossen Shikder (74), and Al-Amin Jr (64) saw them post 344-7.
The target was revised to 309 off 41 overs for Brothers but they were bundled out for just 178 as none of their batters showed the intent to chase the total down, with top-scorer Abdul Mazid using up 84 balls to score just 51.
Abdul Gaffar Saqlain picked up four wickets for Gazi Group.
In the other match at the BKSP, 106 runs from skipper Shamsur Rahman, alongside 81 from Abdulla Al Mamun, saw Rupganj reach 297-8.
The target, revised to 266 off 41 overs for City Club due to rain, was almost chased down courtesy of a brilliant 37-ball 69-run knock from Sazzadul Hoque Ripon but needing 10 runs in the final over, they could only manage four, leading to a five-run defeat.
