Bangladesh on Tuesday included pace bowler Taskin Ahmed in their 15-member squad for the forthcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States, despite concerns over his injury.

This is also the squad for Bangladesh鈥檚 three-match T20I series against the US later this month.

The team will leave for the US today.

Taskin, who picked up the injury during the fourth T20I against Zimbabwe in the recent series, was also named the vice captain of the team.

Chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain said that they included Taskin as he was expected to become fit during the course of the tournament.

Mohammad Saifuddin was the biggest omission from the squad despite doing reasonably well in the 4-1 series against Zimbabwe, when he picked up the joint-highest eight wickets.

Hasan Mahmud and Afif Hossain were included as the travelling reserves for the team.
