Kadamtala Purbo Basabo School and College from Dhaka were crowned champions of the Prime Bank National School Cricket Tournament 2023-24 as they beat Government KG Union High School from Pirojpur by 187 runs in the final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Batting first, Kadamtala lost six wickets for just 42 runs but Player of the Match Sifat Shahriar produced a brilliant fightback to score 148 off just 115 balls, which took his side to 286. In reply, KG Union were bowled out for just 99 as Mohammad Hossain picked up a hat-trick.
Hridoy Fakir from Kadamtala School was named Player of the Tournament.
The prize-giving ceremony was attended by BCB directors and sponsor organisation officials, with Prime Bank鈥檚 deputy managing director, Nazim A Chowdhury, handing over the prizes.
