
Jishan Alam, Afif Hossain, and Akbar Ali hit blistering centuries for the Bangladesh Cricket Board High-Performance team as they beat Bangladesh Tigers by 137 runs in a 50-over match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
This match was part of a four-match series between the sides, where two 50-over and two 20-over games will take place.
On Monday, the tons from Jishan, Afif, and Akbar, alongside 48 from Tanzid Hasan Tamim, saw HP post a mammoth 403-5 in their quota of overs.
Opener Jishan took 40 balls to reach his fifty but later unleashed himself, taking only 24 more to reach triple figures. He finished on 127 off 78 balls, hitting six fours and 13 sixes.
Afif, the captain of the side, scored 103 off 74 balls – hitting eight fours and six sixes – before getting run out, while Akbar stayed unbeaten on 102 off 74 balls, hitting nine fours and five sixes.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shafiqul Islam, Nahid Rana, and Nasum Ahmed picked up a wicket each for Tigers.
In reply, no batter from the Tigers side could replicate the performance from HP, which resulted in them being bowled out for 266. Mohammad Naim top-scored with 49 off 55 balls.
For HP, Aliss Al Islam picked up three wickets, while Wasi Siddique and Mahfuzur Rabby picked up two each.
