
Sabbir Hossain maiden List-A five-wicket haul put Rajshahi division on top against Rangpur on the opening day of their National Cricket League fourth round match at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Saturday.
Rajshahi reached 39-1 in 16 overs, trailing Rangpur by 150 at stumps, with Habibur Rahman and Sabbir Hosan unbeaten on 12 and 17 runs, respectively.
Earlier, Rangpur were dismissed for 189 in their first innings, despite a valiant hundred by Ariful Haque.聽
Medium-pacer Sabbir, who returned with 6-47, ripped through Rajshahi鈥檚 batting after opting to bowl first.
Ariful was the lone batter for Rangpur to show some resistance as he made 103 off 161 balls after his team was reduced to 38-5.聽
At the Cox鈥檚 Bazar Academy Ground, captain Amite Hasan continued his rich vein of form to put Sylhet in a strong position against Khulna.
Amite was not out on 109 as Sylhet reached 244-3 before the bails were drawn.
But while Amite could reach the magical three-figure mark, opener Pinak Ghosh was not lucky enough as he fell on nervous 99 off 218 balls.
