
Amite Hasan struck the first double century of the ongoing National Cricket League to put Sylhet in a strong position against Khulna on the second day of their fourth round match at the Cox鈥檚 Bazar Academy Ground on Sunday.聽
Resuming the day on 244-3, Amite converted his overnight score into 213, facing 455 deliveries that included 18 fours and a six.聽
He built a strong partnership of 251 runs with Asadulla Al Galib, who contributed 115 runs, including seven fours and three maximums.
Mahedi Hasan got rid of Galib and finished with (4-152), and then Amite followed him before Sylhet declared their innings on 496-7.
Khulna reached 3-0 at the close of the day鈥檚 play.聽
Dhaka Division came strong against Dhaka Metro鈥檚 first innings total of 304, finishing the day on 254-6, still trailing Metro by 50 runs at the Sylhet Academy Ground.
Shuvagata Hom and Nazmul Islam Apu were batting on 60 and 21 runs, respectively.
Rony Talukdar also contributed 53, while Taibur Rahman scored 39.
Earlier in the day, Metro could add only 71 runs to their overnight score as Shuvagata (4-62) and Anamul (4-67) cleaned up the lower order in the first hour.
