Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain will be available to play two matches for Hobart Hurricanes in the 14th edition of the Big Bash franchise T20 League in Australia that begins on December 15.Â
The young spinner’s participation was under cloud as the schedules of Bangladesh’s tour to the West Indies and BPL fixtures clashed with Australia’s premier T20 tournament.
Bangladesh will play their last match in the Caribbean on December 20, whereas the BPL will start on December 30.Â
Meanwhile, the Big Bash will run from December 15 to January 19, with Hobart’s campaign starting on December 19.Â
When asked about whether Rishad was given No Objection Certificate by the BCB to take part in the Big Bash, a top official from the Cricket Operations told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ·, ‘A player will be given NOC when he’s about to go to play in a tournament.’Â
‘But before the Big Bash draft, Cricket Australia wanted to know from us how long Rishad would be available. We told them that there was a window between December 20 and December 27. He can be back within December 28’, the official added.Â
Hobart will have two matches during that period—against Perth Scorchers on December 21 and against Adelaide Strikers on December 27.Â
Rishad, who has 31 international caps to his name for Bangladesh, was in the IPL auction on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
But no teams were interested in buying the leg-spinner, whose base price was $90,000.
