Defending champions Fortune Barishal face title contenders Rangpur Riders in the battle of heavyweights of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium today.
The match starts at 6:30pm and T-Sports and GTV will televise the game live.聽
Rangpur have won their first two matches comprehensively as they beat Dhaka Capitals and Sylhet Strikers by 40 and 34 runs, respectively. They batted first in both matches and defended successfully.聽
Barishal also won their first match of the tournament. They recovered from 61-5 while chasing 198 and sealed the win with 11 balls remaining.聽Both the teams have batting prowess at their arsenal. However, Barishal鈥檚 bowling caused a concern as they conceded 197 in the first match. On the other hand, Rangpur are yet to concede more than 151.聽
In the first match of the day, newcomers Dhaka Capital will take on Durbar Rajshahi at 1:30pm.
Both teams lost their respective first matches.
There will be two further matches after today before BPL shifts to Sylhet for the second phase. That will start on January 6 and will run until January 13.
