Bangladesh’s Nahid Rana, Liton Das, and Rishad Hossain were picked by three different franchises during the player’s draft of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League on Monday.Â
Speedster Rana was picked by 2017 winners Peshawar Zalmi. The express fast bowler was the first Bangladeshi cricketer to get called by a team during the draft.
Wicketkeeper batter Liton, who smashed the fastest BPL hundred (100 off 44) among the Bangladeshi cricketers on Sunday, was roped in by Karachi Kings.Â
Liton will be joined by Australian veteran David Warner, New Zealand’s Adam Milne, and Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik, Abbas Afridi, and others.
Karachi captain Shan Masood has revealed that Liton was added as a backup wicketkeeper.
‘We have picked Liton Das as a backup for Tim Seifert,’ said Masood.
Leg-spinner Rishad, who missed an opportunity to play in the BBL, joined two-time PSL champions Lahore Qalandars.
He will play under the captaincy of his BPL Fortune Barishal mate Shaheen Afridi.
The PSL draft included 510 international players from 19 different countries, with 39 of them from Bangladesh.Â
Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan were placed in the Platinum category but were left unselected in the first round.
This year, the tournament will have 34 matches and will follow the round-robin format. The matches will start on April 7.
