Nic Pothas has resigned from his position as the Bangladesh national cricket team鈥檚 assistant coach without finishing his contract ahead of the Champions Trophy.聽
The South African confirmed his resignation through a social media post on Thursday.聽
The former West Indies and Sri Lanka head coach joined the Tigers in April 2023 with a two-year contract. Later it was extended to 2026.聽
鈥楲ike all good things, this too must come to an end,鈥� said Pothas in a social media post. 鈥業鈥檝e had an amazing time with some great people while with @bcb_tigers_official. We鈥檝e broken many records along the way, made history, and created amazing memories.鈥�

Recently, the BCB appointed Mohammad Salahuddin as senior assistant coach. Salahuddin also served as batting coach during Bangladesh鈥檚 tour of the West Indies.
It was reported that Pothas was serving as the fielding coach of Bangladesh before his resignation.聽
