Pacer Hasan Mahmud and Khaled Ahmed have been roped in by the Bangladesh Cricket Board to aid the preparation of the national team ahead of the forthcoming Champions Trophy.
A BCB official confirmed that the pace duo, who are not in the main squad, will travel with the team in the UAE but will return home before the tournament begins.
BCB also asked left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam to join the preparation camp, but he opted out of it as he wants to spend some time with his family during that phase.
The 15-member squad, which will take part in the eight-team tournament, includes four frontline pacers—Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Nahid Rana, and Tanzim Hasan.
Khaled and Hasan both have had a fantastic outing in the recently concluded BPL. Khaled grabbed 20 wickets at an average of 21.55 for the runners-up Chittagong Kings, while Hasan took 14 at 27.14.
The team will depart for the UAE on February 13 at midnight [February 14].
Bangladesh are pitted in Group A with India, New Zealand, and Pakistan.
They will begin the tournament with the match against India on February 20, followed by matches against New Zealand and hosts Pakistan on February 24 and 27 in Rawalpindi.
