Salma Khatun鈥檚 all-round brilliance steered Mohammedan Sporting Club to second position in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Women鈥檚 League as they beat table-topper Gulshan Youth Club by 90 runs at the Sher-e Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.聽
Salma, coming to bat at seven, scored 50 off 78 to help Mohammedan recover from a precarious 61-5 to 157 in 48.2
Habiba Islam Pinky took 3-32 for Gulshan, while Suraya Azmin, Rabeya Khan, and Ritu Moni each took two wickets.聽
Fariha Islam and Salma, then ran havoc on Gulshan鈥簊 batting innings as they lost seven wickets for just 17 runs.聽
Ritu (28 off 71) and Suraya (16 off 34) kept Mohammedan at bay for a while, but Gulshan couldn鈥檛 manage more than 67 before getting all out in 26.2 overs.聽
Gulshan suffered their first defeat of the season in five matches but remained at the top. Mohammedans have won three of their first four matches.
