A structured approach that would accommodate all commitments at various levels without compromising the teams’ performances was the main topic as the Cricket Operations of the Bangladesh Cricket Board held a discussion with the management from the Bangla Tigers at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday.
With international tours and series, a team’s matches, and domestic leagues all lined up in a packed calendar, the officials and coaches deliberated on the scheduling challenges. The discussion focused on ensuring efficient coordination and management for the players.
Bangladesh have six Test matches scheduled for this year, starting with a two-match series against Zimbabwe in the later part of April.
The national team is set to play 18 ODIs and 18 T20Is as per the ICC Future Tours Programme. Bangladesh will tour two countries while hosting five other nations.
The national team will tour Pakistan in May, where they will play three ODIs and three T20Is. They will then visit Sri Lanka, where they will play in all three formats in June-July.
Bangladesh then will host Pakistan for a white-ball series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is. Later, in August, they will visit India for three ODIs and as many T20Is.
Bangladesh will also have a white ball series against Afghanistan (venue yet to be confirmed) and the West Indies (home). The busy schedule of 2025 will end with a full tour to Ireland.
Apart from the bilateral commitments, the Asia Cup T20 is scheduled to be held in India in September.
Bangladesh A will also have a tour to New Zealand, while the BCB High-Performance Team will play a home series against South Africa’s emerging team before touring Australia later in the year.
