The Bangladesh national women鈥檚 team will begin their training camp today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium ahead of the World Cup Qualifier, starting on April 9 in Lahore, Pakistan.聽

Bangladesh last played an international series in January against the West Indies, where they missed the opportunity to qualify directly for the World Cup, which will be held in India in October this year.聽

The players were busy with the domestic fixtures as they took part in the Dhaka Premier Division Women鈥檚 Cricket League.聽

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has already announced the 15-member squad. Nigar Sultana will lead the team as off-spinner Jannatul Ferdus Sumona and all-rounder Ritu Moni returned while Ishma Tanjim was called in as an uncapped player.聽

The camp will run for a week before the Bangladesh team departs for Lahore on April 3.聽

Bangladesh, along with the West Indies, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand, and the hosts Pakistan, will compete in the Qualifier for the two available spots in the eight-team World Cup.聽

It will be a round-robin format where each team will take on the other one time, and the top two teams will qualify.聽

Bangladesh will begin their tournament on April 10 against Thailand before playing two warm-up games on April 5 and April 7 against Scotland and Ireland, respectively.
