
Rony Talukdar smashed a blistering 122 off 100 balls as Mohammedan Sporting Club beat Agrani Bank Cricket Club by seven wickets in their Super League match of the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at the BKSP-3 on Sunday.
Rony and Anisul Islam鈥檚 impressive 199-run partnership, the third highest of the season, propelled Mohammedan to chase down the target comfortably after the bowlers Saifuddin (4-47) and Ebadot Hossain (3-40) limited Agrani Bank to 240-9.
Rony鈥檚 innings featured 10 fours and five sixes, while Anisul struck six fours and a six in his 82-ball 75, while Tawfiq Khan Tushar contributed with 27 runs.
Agrani Bank spinner Arif Ahmed struck late by taking three wickets, but it was too late for revival as Mohammedan captain Towhid Hridoy (2), who was banned for two matches, took them off the mark.
With the win, Mohammedan held the second spot with 20 points in 13 matches, just behind table-toppers Abahani Limited (22 points).
Abahani pulled out a solid 50-run win over Gulshan Cricket Club at the Sher-e Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
After being put into bat first, Abahani scored 278 in 49.5 overs, thanks to Parvez Hossain Emon鈥檚 83 off 70 with eight fours and four sixes, while Mohammad Mithun made 45 off 70 deliveries aided by four boundaries.
In response to the target, Gulshan were bowled out for 228, despite Nihad Uz Zaman鈥檚 82, following a collective bowling effort by Abahani.
SM Meherob Hasan, Rakibul Hasan, Mahfuzur Rabby and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat took two wickets apiece.
