Bangladesh鈥檚 jewellers on Saturday decreased the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 630 a bhari (11.664 grams), setting the new price of the precious metal at Tk聽1,12,931 a bhari with immediate effect, after decreasing the price by Tk 590 a bhari on April 25.
Including the decision on Saturday, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association has changed the price of gold for the ninth time this month, increasing the price four times on April 6, April 8, April 18 and April 21, while reducing the price on April 20, April 23, April 24, April 25, and April 27.
The gold price hit record highs in the first three times.
According to a BAJUS press release issued on Saturday, the standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of BAJUS made the decision.
The price of 21-carat gold decreased to Tk聽1,07,799 a bhari from Tk聽1,08,406 a bhari and that of 18-carat gold decreased to Tk聽92,403 a bhari from Tk聽92,915 a bhari, the press release said.
