
European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) in Bangladesh hosted a meeting with vice-president of European Investment Bank, Nicola Beer, and her team on January 8 at the Bay鈥檚 Edgewater in Dhaka, says a press release.
The meeting was joined by the executive chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud and the EU ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller.
EuroCham chairperson Nuria Lopez expressed her gratitude towards the EIB for expanding financing in Bangladesh, emphasising the need for green energy and infrastructure development.
Discussions focused on improving the business environment, including strategies for branding the country to attract European FDI, reducing bureaucratic red tape and expanding the tax net through collaboration between the EU private sector and the Bangladeshi government.
Nicola Beer underscored the critical role of EuroCham in acting as a bridge between European and Bangladeshi authorities, shaping policies to strengthen trade and investment ties.
