
Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club and Dhaka Wanderers Club have been promoted to the 2024-25 Bangladesh Premier League after finishing first and second in the Bangladesh Championship League, which concluded on Wednesday at the Kamalapur Stadium.
Fakirerpool were crowned champions after defeating PWD Sports Club 2-1 on Tuesday, while Wanderers finished runners-up after drawing 0-0 with the BFF Elite Academy team the following day.
Fakirerpool ended on top of the eight-team table with 27 points from 14 games with eight wins against three draws and three losses, while Wanderers bagged 24 points with six wins against six draws and two defeats.
Fakirerpool forward Rafayel Tudu emerged as the top scorer of the league with 12 goals, and he was also adjudged Player of the League, while his team-mate Saju Ahmned was adjudged Best keeper of the League.
The bottom two teams—seventh-placed Farashganj Sporting Club and eight-placed Uttara Football Club—have been relegated to the third tier Senior Division League for the next season.
PWD, Elite Academy, Wari Club, and NoFeL Sporting Club finished from third to sixth places respectively.
