Mohammedan Sporting Club maintained their lead in the Bangladesh Premier League table with a 1-0 win over Fortis Sporting Club at the Shaheed Dhirendhranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla on Friday.

Nigerian forward Emmanuel Sunday scored the match winner in the 17th minute to give his side their fifth win in as many games and a maximum of 15 points.聽


In the day鈥檚 another match, midfielder Mojibor Rahman Jony rescued defending champions Bashundhara Kings from suffering their third defeat in the league with a stoppage time equaliser after Senegalese midfielder Cheikh Sene gave Brothers Union the lead in the 39th minute at the Kings Arena.聽

Kings, who have played five games, previously lost to Mohammedan and Abahani Limited by identical 1-0 margins in their first and fourth matches, respectively.

League newcomers Dhaka Wanderers Club earned their first victory with midfielder Shakil Ali scoring the all-important goal against Chittagong Abahani at the Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur in the day鈥檚 other match.聽

With the day鈥檚 outcome, Bothers and Kings remained in their previous positions of fourth and fifth places with eight and seven points, respectively.

On the other hand, Wanderers came out of the relegation zone to be in eighth place in the table with four points from five outings while Ctg Abahani were bottom of the 10-team table without a point after losing all their five games.聽
