Defending champions Bashundhara Kings crushed Police Football Club 5-0, while six-time champions Abahani Limited were held to a goalless draw by Fortis Football Club at the Kings Arena in two of the three matches of the Bangladesh Premier League on Friday.聽

In another match, Brothers Union beat newcomers Fakirerpool Young Men鈥檚 Club 3-0 at the Birshreshtha Flight Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.


In Mymensingh, Kings went to break with a 3-0 lead with their Brazilian midfielder Jonathan Fernandes (10th, 38th) scoring twice while forward Mojibor Rahman Jony (12th) scored the other one at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium.

Local forward Rakib Hossain made it 4-0 in the 50th minute before Brazilian forward Miguel Damasceon put the final nail in Police FC鈥檚 coffin by scoring the fifth goal in the stoppage time of the game.

In Munshiganj, Gambian forward Mustapha Drammeh opened the account for Brothers in the 10th minute before Senegalese midfielder Cheikh Sene (34th) and forward Sazzad Hossain (42nd) scored the other two goals.聽

After playing out six games each, Abahani were in second place with 13 points, while Brothers were in fourth place with 11 points.

Kings are placed fifth with 10 points, followed by Fortis FC and Police FC in sixth and seventh places, respectively, with identical six points, while Fakirerpool are in ninth place with three points as they are struggling to avoid relegation in the 10-team table.
