Six-time champions Abahani Limited were held to a goalless draw by Brothers Union as the-first leg of the Bangladesh Premier League ended with two matches at two separate venues across the country on Saturday.

In the day鈥檚 other game, Gambian defender Essa Jallow鈥檚 34th-minute strike helped Forties Football Club to earn a 1-0 win over bottom-placed Chittagong Abahani at the Kings Arena in the city.

The day鈥檚 outcome did not hamper Abahani鈥檚 second-place finish with 20 points from nine games, including two goalless draws after their stalemate against Brothers in Munshiganj.

Abahani, who failed to sign any foreign players this season, earlier played out two goalless draws against Fortis Football Club.

In their other games, the Sky Blue outfit registered six wins against their only loss against arch-rivals Mohammedan Sporting Club, who finish top of the 10-team table with 24 points.

Holders and serial champions, Bashundhara Kings were third with 17 points from five victories, two draws, and two losses, trailing Mohammedan by nine points.

Despite having equal 15 points, Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society finished fifth, ahead of Brothers, due to a better goal difference.

The day鈥檚 victory helped Forties FC to place sixth with 11 points from two wins, five draws, and two losses.
