A good number of Bangladeshi diaspora living in EU countries including president of All European AL Nazrul Islam signed the memorandum.
In the memorandum addressed to the EU president Ursula von der Leyen the expats also urged withdrawal of false cases against leaders and activists of Awami League, including its president Sheikh Hasina who stepped down as prime minister and fled to India on August 5 in the face of a mass upsurge.
An EU official received the memorandum at the European Union headquarters in the Belgian capital Brussels on Monday (September 2, 2024) afternoon, according to a press release.
It said that false cases one after another were being filed against Bangladesh Awami League president Hasina.
