A collection of translated poems in English of poet Rudra Muhammad Shahidullah titled Rudra and Beyond is now available at different bookshops.
Translated by poet-translator Nadira Bhabna, Rudra and Beyond has been published under the banner of the publishing house Adorn Publication.
The book contains 52 poems, two letters and five portraits of the poet.
Nadira Bhabna told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that Rudra was second to none for his liberal attitude toward life, his unique lifestyle, and his uncompromising stance against all odds.
‘He is truly one of a kind—an enigma. In his time, he was distinguished by his great heart and firm beliefs,’ said Nadira Bhabna, adding, ‘He wrote prolifically. His philosophy remains profoundly influential in our literature.’
Bhabna also mentioned, ‘Translation is my passion. The horizon of Bangla literature entices me, and I feel the urge to unveil it to the world through translation.’
