
Literary magazine Kaktarua held a special lecture titled 200 years of Michael Madhusudan Datta at the Umesh Chandra Public Library auditorium in Khulna on Friday.
Writer and literary magazine editor Saleh Mohammad presented the keynote at the programme, which was presided over by poet Romel Rahman, said a press release.Â
Highlighting the life, literature and times of Madhusudan, he said that the poet alone had taken Bangla literature forward by several hundred years. ‘He is the pioneer of many new genres in Bangla literature, including drama, and sonnets.’
He rebelled against conventional beliefs by establishing new values ​​in literature and declaring the victory of humanity.
Moderated by Mallik Muhammad Obaidullah, Atiya Rab recited Madhusudan’s poems at the programme.
