Bangladesh鈥檚 jewellers on Sunday decreased the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 315 a bhari (11.664 grams), setting the new price of the precious metal at Tk聽1,12,616 a bhari with immediate effect, after decreasing the price by Tk 630 a bhari on Saturday.
Including the decision on Sunday, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association has changed the price of gold for the 10th time this month, increasing the price four times on April 6, April 8, April 18 and April 21, while reducing the price on April 20, April 23, April 24, April 25, April 27, and April 28.
The gold price hit record highs in the first three times.
According to a BAJUS press release issued on Sunday, the standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of BAJUS made the decision.
The price of 21-carat gold decreased to Tk聽1,07,496 a bhari from Tk聽1,07,799 a bhari and that of 18-carat gold decreased to Tk聽92,146 a bhari from Tk聽92,403 a bhari, the press release said.
