The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh has awarded 22 listed and non-listed entities in 13 different sectors, including private sector banks, financial services sector, manufacturing and service sectors for best presented annual reports, integrated reporting and corporate governance disclosures.

According to a press release issued by the organisation, apart from recognising the gold, silver and bronze positions in each sector, the ‘Merit’ were conferred on the eight entities on achieving minimum threshold scores.


Among all the winners, Bank Asia PLC became the overall winner.

An 11-member Jury Board recommended list of the winners of ICAB National Award for their best presented annual reports, integrated reporting, and corporate governance disclosures-2023.

During the year, ICAB-Review Committee for Published Accounts and Reports received annual reports from 76 entities.

As the chief guest, Salehuddin Ahmed, adviser for the Ministry of Finance, handed over the awards to the winners, the press release said.

Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder, secretary of the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance, and Md Selim Uddin, secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, among others, were present as guests.

From the winning companies, three best annual reports under each award sector will be nominated by ICAB to the SAFA best presented annual reports, integrated reporting, and corporate governance disclosures- competition among South Asian Nations in recognition of their excellence in financial disclosures.

The award winners are Bank Asia, Shahjalal Islami Bank, City Bank, BRAC Bank and United Commercial Bank in the private sector bank category, IPDC Finance and IDLC Finance in the financial services sector, British American Tobacco Bangladesh, Walton Hi-Tech Industries, and Reckitt Benckiser (Bangladesh) in manufacturing sector, United Power Generation & Distribution Company in power and energy sector, Advanced Chemical Industries Limited/ACI Limited in diversified holdings sector, Green Delta Insurance Company, Reliance Insurance, and City General Insurance in insurance (general) sector, National Life Insurance Company in insurance (life) sector, SAJIDA Foundation, and Shakti Foundation in NGOs/NPOs sectors, Robi Axiata, Grameenphone, and Genex Infosys in communication and IT sector, Unique Hotel and Resorts in service sector, Bank Asia, Shahjalal Islami Bank, and BRAC Bank in corporate governance, and Bank Asia and Shahjalal Islami Bank, IDLC Finance, and BRAC Bank in integrated reporting.
