
Grameenphone contributed Tk 24.44 crore to the Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation Fund on Sunday, said a press release.
A delegation, led by Grameenphone chief human resources officer Sayeda Tahya Hossain, handed over the cheque to labour and employment adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan during a ceremony at the ministry鈥檚 conference room in Dhaka on the day.
This contribution represented 10 per cent of the company鈥檚 Workers Profit Participation Fund for 2023, the release said.
Labour and employment secretary AHM Shafiquzzaman, among others, was present during the event.
Under the Bangladesh Labour Act, domestic and foreign companies contribute one-tenth of 5 per cent of their profits to the labour welfare fund.
