AFM Matiur Rahman has joined Karmasangsthan Bank as chairman on October 20 for the next three years from the date of joining, said a press release.
He has been appointed as chairman of the bank as per a notification of the finance ministry鈥檚 Department of Financial Institutions dated October 17.
He is a former secretary who started government service in 1973. He has served in various high level government job positions.
He served as honorary director of the bank鈥檚 board from 2000 to 2002.
He obtained a master鈥檚 degree with honours in economics from Dhaka University. He also has PhD in economics (microcredit) from Preston University, USA.
