
Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha chairman Md Siddiqur Rahman Sarkar on Monday announced that amendments to the detailed area plan and rules would be initiated within two weeks.
He made the remark at the inauguration of the Rehab Fair 2024 organised by the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh, according to a press release.
The REHAB inaugurated the fair at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital Dhaka.
At the inauguration, the RAJUK chairman emphasised the government’s ongoing efforts to make Dhaka more liveable.Â
He also assured that occupancy certificates will soon be made easier to obtain, enabling compliance from all building owners, the press release said.
The five-day event will run until December 27, featuring 220 stalls representing real estate developers, building materials suppliers, and financial institutions.
Speaking at the event as a guest, major general Habib Ullah praised REHAB’s efforts in organizing such a large-scale fair, calling it a vital platform for bridging buyers and real estate developers.
REHAB president Md Wahiduzzaman, who presided over the event, highlighted the growing demand for quality housing.
‘With economic progress, people are increasingly aspiring to live in well-designed flats. We are committed to turning these dreams into reality,’ he said.
REHAB senior vice-president Liaquat Ali Bhuiyan stressed the necessity of housing loans for buyers, stating, ‘It is almost impossible for citizens to buy flats or plots without home loans. We must simplify the loan process to facilitate planned and modern housing,’ he said.
The fair is open daily from 10:00am to 9:00pm. Visitors can purchase single-entry tickets for Tk 50 or multiple-entry tickets for Tk 100, allowing up to five visits.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charity, the press release added. Additionally, a raffle draw will be held each day to engage visitors.
The event aims to connect stakeholders and boost the housing sector.
