
Biman Bangladesh Airlines earned a net profit of Tk 282 crore for the 2023-24 financial year and total revenue of Tk聽10,575 crore, said a press release.
The information was revealed in Biman鈥檚 annual general meeting held on Saturday. The AGM was presided over by Biman chairman Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury.
Biman recorded an operational profit of Tk 1,556 crore during the financial year, which is a 9.5 per cent increase compared with that in the previous year, the release said.
The state-owned airline transported a total of 33,63,685 passengers across 30 domestic and international destinations using 21 aircraft in the financial year.
The airline earned Tk 637 crore from transporting 43,044 tonnes of cargo, marking a 60 per cent increase compared with the previous year.
Shahjalal International Airport handled 3,50,222 tonnes of cargo, gaining a 33.1 per cent increase over the previous fiscal year.
The airport also provided ground handling services to 32 foreign passenger airlines and 17 cargo airlines, as well as non-scheduled flights.聽
