Maria Howlader has been elected president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh, said a press release.
Md Johirul Islam FCA has been elected vice-president of the institute.
They will take over the charges of respective offices on January 1, 2025 and work for the institute for a period as per CA Order- 1973 (President鈥檚 Order No-2 of 1973).
Maria Howlader is managing partner and founder of Howlader Maria & Co, Chartered Accountants, member firm of KRESTON Global.
She is also serving as secretary general of the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry and as its board director for two consecutive terms, covering 2022-24 and 2024-26.
Md Johirul Islam is partner of A Qasem & Co, Chartered Accountants, Member firm of Ecovis International.
He served as vice-president of ICAB in 2024.
