Tax Commissioner Mutasim Billah Faruqi has been selected as president and Syed Mohibul Hasan secretary general of the BCS (Taxation) Association.
The new executive committee was formed at an emergency meeting of the association at the former NBR building at Segunbagicha in the capital on Monday.
The former committee was abolished and the 49-member committee was formed in the meeting, said a press release.
Tax commissioners Md Shameemur Rahman, Ikhtiar Uddin Mohammad Mamun and Mohammad Abdur Raqib have been vice-presidents of the committee.
Additional tax commissioners Muhammad Muyeenul Islam and Mohammad Mosaddeq Hossain were made joint secretaries-general, while additional tax commissioner Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan Bhuiyan was made treasurer of the committee.
Joint tax commissioner Md Abu Musa was made office secretary, deputy tax commissioner Nazma Parvin publicity and publication secretary, joint tax commissioner Md Mohidul Islam Chowdhury research secretary, joint tax commissioner Alauddin Ahmed social welfare secretary, additional tax commissioner Irin Islam Julee information and technology secretary, deputy tax commissioner Raisun Nesa cultural secretary and joint tax commissioner Md Farjanul Islam sports secretary.
Deputy tax commissioner Kazi Ruqaiya Sultana has been made assistant office secretary, deputy tax commissioner Md Firoz Kabir assistant publicity and publication secretary, deputy tax commissioner Md Faruk Hossain assistant research secretary, deputy tax commissioner Md Abdullah Yusuf assistant social welfare secretary, deputy tax commissioner Farhana Umme Habiba assistant information and technology secretary, deputy tax commissioner Enamul Islam assistant cultural secretary and deputy tax commissioner Md Zillur Rahman has been made assistant sports secretary.
Besides, a 27-members executive committee of the association was formed in the meeting.
