A section of farmers impacted by the July-August flash flood have been receiving incentives from the Ministry of Agriculture through their bKash accounts, said a press release.
In addition to receiving seeds and fertilisers, this incentive will help the affected farmers maintain the continuity of production, it said.
The Ministry of Agriculture has decided to provide a Tk 1,000-incentive to flood-affected farmers through MFS channels. Farmers can receive this incentive in their preferred MFS account. Among them, 1 lakh 34 thousand farmers have chosen to receive the government incentive in their bKash accounts. They can use this incentive through their bKash wallets as well as cash out from nearby agent points at a reduced charge of Tk 7.
