Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC on Wednesday deposited Tk 1.06 crore to Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation聽fund from its profits of the 2023-24 financial year under Section 238 of Labour Act, 2006, said a press release.
Nahid Islam, adviser for the posts, telecommunications, and information technology ministry, handed over a cheque for Tk 1.06 crore to Md Shakhawat Hossain, adviser to the labour and employment ministry, in an event at the Bangladesh Secretariat on the day.
BLWF is established under the labour and employment ministry.
Among others, Posts and Telecommunication Department secretary Md Mushfiqur Rahman, labour and employment ministry secretary AHM Shafiquzzaman and BSCPLC project director Mirza Kamal Ahmed were present.
