
Al-Arafah Islami Bank has sent its managing director Farman R Chowdhury on a three-month mandatory leave.
The bank鈥檚 board made the decision at a meeting on Sunday.
Three other top officials were also sent on leave. They were deputy managing director and chief financial officer Mohammad Nadim, DMD and Head of IT Division Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, and Head of Treasury Md Abdul Mobin.
This makes Al-Arafah the seventh bank whose MD has been sent on forced leave since the political change on August 5.
Bangladesh Bank has so far restructured the boards of 15 banks amid an ongoing drive to reform the troubled banking sector.
聽Special audits are underway to investigate irregularities and financial misconduct in these banks.
Al-Arafah Islami Bank was one of the banks whose board was recently dissolved and reformed by the central bank.
